Always interesting for us sufferer’s, your content is so valuable. I am wondering though, have you ever done a video on a “long and torturous colon? I am 75 years old and have always suffered with my digestive system and although I have had colonoscopy’s since age 50 (family history), not one doctor has ever said this, until the one I had this year in January! 3 liters of water + 1 apple + salad at dinner, every single day. This helped me alot, when I had problems. Drink water in addition to whatever you are already drinking ( throughout the day.) Apples have fiber, nutrients, and a chemical compound that draws water into the intestines. Add a side salad to your dinner plans, make it the way you like so that you will actually eat it. Try to be more conscious about fiber if there's an opportunity to add veggies to a sandwich- add the veggies, if there's a way to add beans to your diet do it theyre great. Also you can add 1 - 2 tlbs. of chia seeds to a glass of water to cheat and get a bunch of fiber. The last thing is to set a timer when using restroom. Set timer for 5mins if your doing it right it should be like 3mins and done. The whole process should take 7-8 mins with washing of hands. Dont sit on the toilet with your phone or a book you wil lose track of time. Hope this helps... the most important of the list are the first three things.

I started to have tailbone pain last November and it took me till February to finally see a physician about it. I took about a month or 2 seeing this guy before I diagnosed myself and pointed out to it might be a cyst. Well I was sent to a surgeon where he confirmed it was a pilonadial cyst and got it removed. After a month and a half of still trying to recover, he told me today how serious it was. I had a cyst that caused the rectal fistual which is why I was still having drainage and he mention the Seton installed. He tightened it today and restarted my pain cycle so I just hope this fixes my issue.

In regard to consistency, what would cause a stool to be solid log but have kinda a fluffy exterior vs. A smooth appearance? Only dx after many tests has been IBS. Not sure if the fluffy look is concerning?

I had a anal cancer in 2022, actually February of 2022. I try to go everyday. What I find is choosing a time to go to the bathroom works . Now it's every morning. The issue with me is stools are often firm or hard. I don't like pushing or straining because it increases pressure in the head. I hate public restrooms because they are mostly filthy.

You are a delightful person, Doctor! I wish I could come to see you. I have been suffering for eight years now on and off mostly on of late with horrible, anal, fissures, fistula, bleeding pain… Huge exterior and interior hemorrhoids. And my doctors hate me because I won’t take any of their Medicine that is supposed to stop my diarrhea or alter my stomach acid content. Well, those medicines that they want to give me actually destroy my Microbiome and I argued with them about it! So when I get into a spell of watery diarrhea, it rips open my anus and I get such excruciating pain. The only thing that gets made to be able to function halfway is hydrocodone. Well I’m 58 years old and my doctor just cut me off of that. She said that she didn’t find any opioids on my system the last time she checked me. I was given 14 pills at a time, once a month. I barely take the pills if I don’t have to! I didn’t take them for fun. I am so outraged I’m 58 years old and I’m treated like this! I’m now losing continents sometimes when I have these diarrhea spells. It’s happened four times in the past week. I also frequently have to get up in the middle of the night to poop! I sure wish there was an easy way I could get a decent doctor like you! I’m severely suffering and have been for years. Thank you, and please continue your wonderful work!

I’ve listened to your advice for a year since my hemoroids surgery. Stopped using fiber and just drink a vegetable, fruit juice blend we make at home every day. Use mir a lax every afternoon before dinner ( my big meal ) and have a soft bowel movement every morning because of following your advice. Thank you so very much Doctor. 👍🏻❤️
